⚙ General Changes
- ⚙ Reverted particle effects to be flashier like they used to be.
- ⚙ Changed menu selection bar to have a shadow on the bottom.
- ⚙ Removed finesse mechanic
- ⚙ Parrying no longer costs meter
- ⚙ The meter does fuck all now unless you're Nightshade.
- ⚙ Fixed game icon not loading properly.
- ⚙ Viewing replays is temporarily removed for technical reasons, it will return soon.
- 🛠 Improved in-game performance by removing empty space on the sides, top, and bottom of sprites. This also improves file sizes.
- ⚙ Added "test game" button to the menu that will run various tests on the game. You don't really need to use this but if you want you can.
⚙ Arcade Mode
- ⚙ Added Arcade Mode. A boss rush mode where after picking your character, you play against CPUs with every other character ending with your rival. If you defeat all of them, you win the arcade mode. (not available in demo)
- ⚙ Added Credits at the end of arcade mode.
⚙ Rendering Changes
Behind the scenes I've been rewriting the code of the game to help make it the game look better and run faster. The benefits aren't immediately apparent, but there are a couple of improvements already.
Bilinear Mipmap Filtering
This setting has been added to certain UI elements. Basically, if you ever thought text looked weirdly jagged, this helps make it smoother and easier to read.
Mild Performance Improvements
Just... take my word for it. It's way too complicated to explain, I'm gonna try to reduce in-game stutters more in due time though.
⚙ Nightshade
- ⚙ Added green plus particles for Nightshade's heal.
